The Gwydir Mawr trail (formerly known as the Marin) is one of the original MTB trails. A true classic! Big climbs, big descents brilliant single track and truly awesome scenery make this a trail to remember. Now including a brand new 2km section with a mix of traditional hand dug trail and modern flow features. If you're short on time then Gwydir Bach is a smaller version ideal for an evening lap.

Made a detour to ride this Trail, most disappointing ride I have had in 20 years mtbing way to many tedious fireroad climbs for mediocre short singletrack sections and as for the bizarre steps just after the little bridge ! you can't ride up or down it, no choice but to carry bike I thought I had gone the wrong way, will not visit again.
If your heading to North Wales go to Coed Llandegla and Coed Y Brenin

Visited the Marin Trail in the Gwydr forest whilst on holiday in the area. It's a great trail. Well marked/signposted all the way round. Mainly forestry tracks upward with well maintained single track down. Mainly not particularly technical but there are some more challenging sections - either rocky/rooty/narrow, or fast with jumps and swoopy berms. Tremendous fun.
