A good road to link from the centre of the Blackwood metropolis up to trails to the north. Trail down to the river is downhill and gravel in good condition. Take care riding out of the river for vehicles coming the other way as sight lines are not good for a few hundred metres but there are few cars an you'll hear them coming. The climb is moderate and constant all of the way up to Yankee Road. Coming back into Blackwood is a great fast ride with a few rocky sections which you can bounce your way down at speed.
