Martys Trail Details
A traditional singletrack trail, not "trickey", winds its way through lush jarrah forest. Soil type is not too gravelly. Generally flowing, the trail is designed to be ridden fast. Originally hand built, some sections have been professionally re-worked . The trail is generally narrow but the start of the south end is suitable for hand cycles, (from the start of the trail to Ashcroft Road, which is nearly all downhill). The trail is built to be ridden in both directions, and is a good "out and back" ride. The "Start" at the south end is adjacent to the Rays Trail parking spot. The "end" at the north is near the Harris Dam picnic area. The Harris Dam has a beautiful picnic area with toilets, and the view from the dam wall across the water is quite impressive. The Harris Dam is one of the biggest dams in the South west. The Bibbulmun walk track is in the vicinity, and the Munda Biddi mountain bike trail is also nearby.
The start of the trail is quite close to the Harris River Estate Winery.
Park either at the Rays Trail parking spot or at the Harris Dam picnic area.
