Rough, rocky and loose fireroad. Steep climbs, some loose sandy and gravel areas, other areas are hard-packed and rocky. Mermaid Mountain lookout is about mid-way (slightly closer to the northern end), with spectacular views across the valley and Lake Manchester from a rocky outcrop that can be hiked up to from the main fire road - look for the large rocky outcrop with granite boulders. Little Mermaid lookout is also located along this track. It is inevitable that you will have to walk at least one climb.

Track starts near the end of Haven Rd (narrow, steep bitumen road climbing up from Upper Brookfield Rd) and runs all the way to Gold Creek Boundary Break in the north

Lots of loose rock, some loose gravel and sandy section, but primarily hardpack and gravel. Rideable though, view from Mermaid Mountain is great
