Merv's is a great trail for any hiker, rider of any level. It adds on some length for what amounts to a nice quick loop from the Saunders road parking lot. It sends down through a forest of close small trees, then goes into the river walls as you decends into the creek crossing, a nice hardy short climb back to the top for another sweet decent back into the parking lot. It's a day hiker for some elderly folks, and a fun little addition to anyone looking to add length to their climb. Check Little Death if you are up for the challenge of a much more steep decent, that joins with Merv's at the lower half.
Avoid during and after wet weather. The lower section floods and will hold water/mud in the trail trench for weeks.

|reporter The DoM Forestry Dept has advised we are in moderate fire hazard rating. It would be wise at this point to restrict saw work to only before 1pm....|
