Middle Mountain Trail #608 is a 20-mile linear trail that starts directly across HWY 39 from Rimel Picnic Area and travels south to Neola, WV. This trail climbs Middle Mountain as a narrow footpath. After 1 mile, the trail levels off and follows a grassy lane along the ridgetop. An Adirondack-style shelter is located at 3.5 miles from this trailhead. The southern terminus of the trail reaches the North Fork of Anthony Creek, across from Forest Road 96. The route is marked with blue trail blazes. The closest source for drinking water is Pocahontas Campground.
