Best done as an out and back so you can enjoy the fruits of your uphill labours. Start from Moraine Lake Road. You park in one location and ride your bike 500 meters back down the road to reach the cyclists trailhead (see access info for details). The trailhead start is signed with a kiosk and is where the Fairview Loop xc ski trail exits in winter. The first section of trail is an old road, is very rooty and is the least pleasant riding on the entire trail. Once the route joins with the hiking trail to Paradise Valley things improve conditions-wise. Riding is characterized by consistent uphill with sections of roots and/or rocks that require good line choice and consistent power to the pedals. There are several larger stream crossings on bridges that vary in width. One of the crossings has a rough sawn plank as a skinny alternative to the bridge. The upper sections of trail on the E/SE slopes of Mt Temple are generally narrow, smooth and moderately angled with great views amidst beauteous wildflowers. An outstandingly scenic tour on the lower flanks of a Lake Louise giant, Mt. Temple. Make sure to take bear spray on this one

Take the Lake Louise turnoff from the TransCanada and head toward the Chateau Lake Louise. Just before reaching the Lake turn left onto the Moraine Lake road (clear signage). Drive for about 2.5 kms and park in the Paradise Valley carpark on your right. Once on your bike head back down the Moraine Lake Road towards Lake Louise (the trailhead that leaves from the carpark is for hikers only) for about 500 meters until you see the trailhead kiosk on the left. Leave the road, hit the dirt (and roots) and start pedaling
