Mud Springs 173 Details
Popular trail for downhill. It has some rowdy sections and even some rooty drops. Shuttlers will often park at the Tibblefork turnoff and shuttle up to Timpanooke or the summit, then ride down to Tibble fork and their cars. Keep in mind that this starts with a climb, with a pretty good washed out section that is a stiff climb. Once you get to the saddle where the Overlook turn off is, you can rip it down through the roots, with multiple rooty drops and a some washed out gullys. Watch for large rocks that can get dislogged by the motorbikes.
In winter typically only the bottom section is used as part of a loop for Fat bike riding. A local snowshoe club packs down the Mudsprings - Mill Canyon short loop and makes for good winter riding.
