Coming from the South, the trail starts smooth and grassy - occasionally grown over with thorny blackberries. Then you hit several long rock gardens that are extremely difficult to clear. It is really slow going through here - most people would probably be walking their bikes for a while. Eventually you exit the rock gardens and it is more consistent black diamond level to the end of the trail with several rocky sections, but thankfully some smoother sections as well.

This is a great hiking trail but is crazy hard for biking. Even advanced level riders should plan on walking the bike on their shoulders for about 1/3 of the trail. Be ware, the trail is inviting and easy at the beginning which is what lured us in. If your biking your best to avoid this one.
