Nemisis is the original trail of the area that is now known as The Backside trails. The trail head can accessed from the northwest corner of Strawberry Field in Oneonta NY. This is a downhill primary single track trail, so it is fun on all kinds of bikes whether XC, Fat, Trail, AM, or even DH.
The first section traverses a relatively flat area. The first little down hill will bring you to a intersection with the trail, Whippie Hippie. Then as you go along, there are a few more slight ups and downs until you come to the second intersection. Here you have the option of either staying on Nemisis or riding the Flow Track. From the second intersection, the trail starts to point down hill. You will encounter small jumps, berms, rock and root gardens, and other fun features along the way.
The single track part of this trail ends about three quarters of the way down and you will be in a small open area. If you choose to follow Nemisis down to the road, you will continue across the open area to the left side where a steep trouble track descends a rocky section behind a natural gas pipeline valve house. Just beyond this is Winney Hill Road.

Private Land: be quiet and respectful. Stay off during hunting season.

This trail was built two years ago, and it is really a lot of fun. each year it gets a little better. If you want a fun downhill trail that does not leave you in an extreme climbing situation to get back to the top, this is for you.
