Nimby was designed by a Sadist. It relentlessly and frustratingly takes you up tight techy steep
switchbacks littered with roots and rocks, only to flatten out and descend the elevation you just climbed. Guess what, to another switchback. Rinse, repeat, like 1000 times. Do yourself a favor and take the FSR. Unless of course you enjoy beating yourself with a stick in your spare time.

Hi, I am the sadist that built Nimby. Glad you experienced it. Nigel

It's a beautiful forest with occasional overlooks...in general the whole length of the trail has good variety in terrain, trail, and views, with a difficulty level (both in tech and fitness) that goes up and down a little, but is solidly intermediate. A great way to get up a hill.
