Another excellent backcountry ride in this zone with over 4K descending. Lots of narrow single track, some rocky tech up top & near the bottom, and a fair amount of exposure along many parts of the trail. Recent brushing work on the trail has really opened things up and returned this ride to prominence. The trail gets loose and dusty in late summer but still pretty rides well. Watch out for creek crossing in early season as it can be a bit sketchy.

Dropped in from the top on 7/25. Lots of loose rocks and very dusty. 1.5-2 miles of trail is owned by alder brush, just before the switchback section. The switchbacks are gnar and need repair, but I got down all except one without getting off my bike (foot down). Epic trail, just needs some love and some rain. Awesome climb up shady pass from pot peak TH. Saw 4 bears

XL tree fallen after river crossing. Plenty of other ones across the trail before that point (starting from the Lake side)

Trail was logged out and fully brushed out June 11-12 except top mile that was under snow. This includes the lower section below the junction with Lone Peak.
