The upper meadows section of Stanford Rock is now closed. TAMBA built a new, better, flowier trail with a full set of erosion controls, amazing views, and optional rock rides and jumps. Please use the new trail. The old trail is a Comstock era logging road. We re-routed the trail for a better user experience and to restore the bulldozer scar that runs through the center of the meadows.

TAMBA Trail Conditions Update, July 3, 2019

TAMBA volunteer crews cleared all downed trees to roughly 7800’ elevation. Trail is clear of snow to about 7400’. As of July 3, expect about 80-1200’ of patchy snow before the meadows. Should be completely clear in a few days. Above the meadows there is more continuous snow. Should be mostly rideable by around July 10.

Correction on TAMBA update- 80-100 feet of snow. Easy to get around.

Just rode to the top today, there is still a significant amount of snow drifts on the trail and there is a large downed tree across the trail towards the top. It is worth it however to do what you have to do to make it to the top. The view of Twin Peaks and the Lake is spectacular and the downhill is incredible!

No snow but the mosquitos were out in force. Creek was to high to start at the beginning of the trail. I could have crossed if I wanted wet shoes the rest of the ride. Decided to start down below at ward creek TH.

TAMBA- Trail Conditions update. TAMBA Volunteer cut the remaining two trees off the trail. Clear to the summit. New trail riding great. Survived the record winter.
TAMBA is currently building new trail near the bottom. This will replace yet another section of lousy logging road with flowy new singletrack. We’ve laid down over 1/2 mile of trail so far this year. Expect the new section to open in mid-September.
Also, TAMBA is moving trail operations to the summit in late September. Stanford Rock Trail doesn’t actually go to Stanford Rock! TAMBA is restoring trail access to the summit. Will be amazing with massive panoramic views and a new bike legal mountain top summit trail. Come join in volunteer build days. Working until the snow flies.

TAMBA trail conditions update (October 11, 2019)- We opened two new sections of trail so far this summer. Eliminated a "bulldozer in a drainage" section of logging road. Replaced it with an easy climbing flowy bermy trail near the bottom. We also just opened a new re-route at the upper meadows. Massive lake views. Flow, some optional rock rides.
The old logging road has been covered with debris to slow down water flowing into the meadows. The goal is to get the bulldozer scar in the meadows to heal up and grow new grass and wildflowers. Volunteer crews are currently working on the summit trail and will deliver an amazing mountain top peak trail in about two weeks. Enjoy!
