Over Easy Details
Most trails I add because they're great and I think other people should experience them. This one is being added primarily as a warning.
I've ridden about 70% of the trail network on Moscow Mountain, so far, Over Easy is the only trail I regret riding.
Here's why. To get here, you've got to climb up to 4-corners, then ride fire roads down towards Viola. As you drop close to 1,200 feet in elevation on fire roads, you think to yourself, "This is a ton of elevation I'm losing in the worst way possible. I hope this loop is worth it." It's not.
The actual Over Easy loop has very little elevation. It's built on old access/skid roads, and has nothing remarkable about it. Except that MAMBA has (rightfully in my opinion) prioritized better trails for maintenance. I got off my bike no less than 30 times to go over, around and under logs blocking the trail in May of 2016.
Even if the trail were impeccably maintained, it'd be a pretty mediocre ride with a ton of fire-road climbs to get there.
There are tons of amazing trails on Moscow Mountain. This isn't one of them.
Ride this if: you're a lumberjack dying to try out your new Stihl or a cyclecross racer trying to practice your dismounts.
Skip this if: you're a sane person.
If you hate yourself and feel like you must experience this trail, start at 4-corners, then ride down Rock & A Hard Place or Lickity Split, then connect to WhoopDeeDoo (aka, a fire road with some fun rollers cut into it). From WhoopDeeDoo, drop tons of elevation on unnamed fire roads, and immediately begin to regret your decision.
