From Pinto Mesa the Paradox Trail drops off the west side of the mesa into Coal Canyon. After climbing to the south rim of the canyon, fllow the PT signs until the new single track sections are met. The trail will cross CR 25 (Delta-Nucla Rd.) and continue south as it heads to the Nucla TH parking area just outside of town. Continue north following the PT signs. More single track is met until coming to the primitive two track which you will follow, crossing Coal Canyon once more and Doby Canyon. The old to track will head in a NW direction before coming CR Z 26. Go north to reach Tabeguache Creek.

Good 2WD access at Pinto Mesa, Paradox Trail and CR 25, Nucla TH parking area and CR Z 26 Rd 9 miles north of Nucla.
