The Peterson Ridge West and East trails are excellent XC trails for any mountain biker looking for a good workout in nice scenery. Both trails can be combined as a large loop, best ridden counter-clockwise (out the West trail and back on the East). Several connector trails bridge the loop allowing for many length variations. Overall the trails are beginner-friendly, but note there are definitely several solid-intermediate rocky technical sections, though all are short and easy walks if needed. Generally, the far end of the loop is the most challenging, with short-but-steep climbs and narrow single track. Overall, though, it's a great place to just ride and enjoy the ponderosa pine forest and views to the west from the ridge (on the West trail).

Trail in good shape. Lot of areas to practice climbing up approachable rocky terrain. A couple small berms in the middle. Mostly a XC trail...

Really great trail system! sisters Trails did a great job on making the best of this despite the lack of big climbs. We did the 18 mile loop from town on drop bar gravel bikes- ripping around and testing the limits of our traction and speed. A few rocky spots were too much for gravel bikes, but we walked less than 100 yards of 18 miles. Would bring the MTBs if we planned on adding to this loop and heading up to 3 Creeks. Would make an epic big day loop riding out to the end of the trail system from town, slogging up the paved/dirt road to trail 99 and descending back down to town. Definitely MTBs for that adventure.
