Upper part is quite slippery due to loose rock but rideable. Tons of hikers! Lower part, starting at the base of the zig-zack offers beautiful long flowy sections. The first of the two climbs towards the end is actually hike a bike. The second one I skipped and took the road but looks like it's quite some work to pedal up on a hiking trail there. I combined it with a climb to Pic du Midi.

I rode this trail in July 2019. Took the lift to the observatory on the top of Pic du Midi, this was an adventure alone. The employees up there looked surprised when I showed up with my bike and they had to find a guy who knew where to let me out. So I was pretty much thrown out the backdoor where a narrow, rocky trail started.... The first 100 meters are almost impossible to ride, then it gets better. First you'll have to ride some gravel roads until the singletrack starts. This one's very technical and the views are amazing. Until you arrive down in the valley. Then you'll have to encouter the two climbs back to La Mongie, which are impossible to ride with a bike. The singletrack part is worth it though. I have a Youtube video coming soon. Check it out if you like. I will link it to here when I have uploaded it.
