Pine Grove Trail is run as a shuttle and is one of Gold Beach's best downhill trails. Recently reclaimed and maintained by Curry Citizens for Public Land Access, this rooty, rocky, steep, and fast downhill trail has some pedally sections but is mostly contour moto trail. Park at the Bottom near Illinois and Agness River confluence before Agness and shuttle to the top of the trail via FS Road 3318. Road 3318 is paved most of the way (as well as Jerry's Flats Road) but is a steep, hot, climb if you are thinking about riding this whole route in a loop. The 6+ mile downhill is well marked and has been recently rebuilt in section. Expect some steep rocky shoots, exposure along the contour trail, technical root sections, fun drops and optional rock booters, as well as flowy "Oakridge-style" downhill trail. Ride into Cougar Lane Lodge at the end of your shuttle ride for some ice cold beers and tasty food, not to mention a swim in the Rogue River.
Consider donating to the CCPLA for their efforts on reopening and clearing this amazing trail.

Access Info

Park at the confluence of Rogue and Illinois River before crossing the bridge. The trail exits on the south side of the road. Shuttle back down Jerrys Flats Road and turn onto FS Road 3318. Take the road to the top where it "crows-foot" splits into a few other gravel roads. There is ample parking in the clearing at the top. Trailhead is marked with sign.
