- The trail leaves from the East side of the parking area. Marked with a green trail sign on a post.
- Follow the trail for about 2 km until you reach some large meadows. The trail continues through the meadows on hikers left.
- Trail heads up to the end of the meadow where it enters the forest at about 2.5 km, marked with a large orange hiker sign attached to a tree.
- The trail follow a good trail on switchbacks up through the forest to a notch at the base of the ridge, here you head right on a good trail that switchbacks up through meadows until you reach the scree.
- At the scree the trail goes to the right and there are three switchbacks that take you to the ridge.
- Follow the ridge to the summit. The ridge is narrow for the last 50 metres, use caution on this section. The summit is 5.5 km from the trailhead. Total elevation gain is 875 metres.
- On the return, descend back along the ridge until you reach a large cairn that marks the start of the trail across the scree.
Access Info
- Set your odometer to zero at the mine maintenance shop on Windermere Creek FSR.
- At 3 km to the turn off on the Bernaise Creek FSR, the left hand fork, marked with a RSTBC sign that says Pinto left and Pedley right.
- At 10 km follow the main road at the Y junction, right hand branch. Hiker sign marks the turn.
- At 11km turn left off the main FSR. Hiker sign marks the turn.
- At 11.4 km arrive at the trailhead parking area, trail marked with a green Pinto Mountain Trail sign.
