The final piece to the full Squaw Valley Loop, this dirt road has been popular for many years to drive this loop in a jeep or side-by-side. On a dirt bike it is fun, and has some sections that are pretty steep and can have little washed out gullies in the middle of the road. Because it is shaded by Powerhouse Mountain, it is a very good winter trail for fat tire, snowshoeing, skiing, or snowmobiling, with more snow than most trails at this low elevation; it is gated in winter about 2 miles in.

reporter About 1-2 feet of snow; enough snowmobiles have driven it to make a nice packed trail for bikes, snowshoes, or skis, with a few holes.

Dusty, rocky, loose in spots. Mega rock gardens and loose chunk up high.

If you are a rocker, this trail is your jam. In the lower elevation it is mostly chunky gravel. But up high... rocks, rocks, rocks, and more rocks: loose, big, small, embedded, gardens, boulders, you name it. I wouldn't even think of a full rigid like a gravel bike on this trail. My hardtail XC MTB handled it okay, but it beat the crap out of me. Beautiful views from the top, though! You could also make it a loop from Springville by going up the paved bike trail in Hobble Creek, up Pole Heaven Road, and down Spring Canyon singletrack. I'll try that next time.
