This is a continuation of the old Porcupine Spring Road. This is an old closed road that is reverting to singletrack. It is a good evening ride on a hot day as it is mostly on a north slope and shaded. There are good views high above the Salmon River on the west end of the trail. The trail is not difficult but there may be some down trees or vegetation if it hasn't been cleared recently. This is grazing country so bovines may be present.

The road climbs to a saddle as it meets Goldbug Ridge. You can continue beyond this saddle by bypassing the old "Kelly Hump" after which the road continues into the Briney Creek drainage and dead ends. This Briney portion of the road can be overgrown and rocky, but the view of the Salmon River below is worth pursuing if you made it this far.
