The upper part is a typical, average, easy to ride natural trail. If you don't watch carefully you will automatically end up on the trail "Le Défends". So watch closely to the right and branch off. The trail then turns into "Terres Noires" black earth territory and becomes a lot more difficult and technical. Trail ends at a small creek then can be crossed. If you come from Draix don't want to ride the nasty climb to the top and want to skip the boring upper part I guess you could ride the trail "Le Défends" in reverse and then branch off to the lower part of "Ravin d'Emporte".

(It would make sense to add the upper part of the trail to the trail "Le Défends" and declare only the lower part as "Ravin d'Emporte".)
