Exit the Reeher's Day Use Area Parking Lot and this trail follows alongside the Nehalem River to Cochran Rd (to access the bridge) and begin the Step Creek Trail climb. If you plan to do the Carson Creek Loop, this also returns you to the parking area from the opposite side. (very tricky)
