Traveling high on the South/West Bank of the Bow River, this technical, heavily-rooted trail will challenge even the elites. Plenty of shade will ensure this trail stays wet well into spring.
The trail goes from wide to narrow with high frequency and dropping a tire over the edge in several sections will make for an uncomfortably fast bounce through the brush.
Huge undulations through the forest make this trail extremely challenging and rewarding to those willing to try it.

I've often wondered how many other riders knew of this zone. Every year or two I pedal over and explore the area-it has lots of potential. There are at least several other trails in the vicinity, mostly routes off the escarpment that are best ridden down as they are gutbusters to climb, but as far as I can determine-nothing that joins up into a good loop on single track. As you mention-the power line section is demanding in spots with lots of roots and some heinous ups in both directions.

Yah! The potential of this area is huge, but no real loops to speak of. There are a few access points (according to google earth) from above (rural springbank area) but quite fun as an out and back from Valley Ridge.
