The trail extends a short distance west of the junction with the Stewartville Trail but dead-ends at a hiker-only trail. Heading east there is a short but steep climb to the high point of the ridge followed by mostly downhill run on a smooth, wide fire road. Great views, when the trees open up, out over the Sacramento Delta. The trail rejoins the Stewartville Trail at the bottom.
