Rocky Ridge is a challenging and intense two mile trail inside Santa Teresa County Park. It follows the east ridge of the park to the top of the mountain where it terminates near the communication tower.

This trail is very technical and rocky (thus the name). The large rocks that punctuate the trail all along its length range in size from softball-sized to many which are larger than basketball-sized. Few are loose, most are firmly planted in the dirt and can be "safely" ridden over.

This trail is difficult to climb and challenging to descend. On the uphill, the rocks make it difficult to maintain any real pace or speed, making it easier for them to trap a tire and bring the bike to an immediate stop. On the downhills, certain sections are challenging enough to necessitate most riders to dismount and walk through. Only highly skilled riders can navigate some sections of this trail. It may be the only black trail in the park, but It is a great place to work on skills.

This a fun, mildly technical trail. Compared to UC or trails in the Sierra it's a flow trail!

Super fun, fast, rocky trail. Probably less than 10 corners on the whole trail; point and shoot! Lots of gap options. PUMP YOUR TIRES UP (there's no traction to be had out here to warrant low tire pressure anyways). Gotta be at least 30% of the people that head down this trail end up with a flat tire. Trail is also miserable in the summer heat; there is no shade to speak of.

Not particularly steep but rocky as the name suggests. One of the more technical parks in the area.

Do not ride in the rain. Major clay in th Santa Teresa which will clog up your bike and you have to carry 50# of bike out. Also, rocks get slippery. Broke my wrist right as slight rain started. No cell service except at top an main parking lot.

Fun technical rock garden you can ride both ways. Not too steep and you can ride it uphill for a challenge. Lots of jagged rocks so pick your line wisely. Not a trail you bomb down; but momentum is your friend.

Rode this uphill first, then downhill 4 days later. Wow - one of the toughest rocky trails in the South Bay. Who knew?!

On the up, it was very, very difficult, causing me to stop dead on big rocks occasionally. Very hard to maintain pace and any kind of speed. This would be a good no-dab climb challenge.

On the down, it was fast and fun, with big, chunky bumps to roll over! I have a Ripmo V2, so the travel works well on this VERY rocky gnar. I would not recommend this on a hardtail unless you're OK walking small sections of it.
