Romero Rd is a utility and fire access road closed to all motor vehicles. It rises from above Montecito up to El Camino Cielo. It provides access to the top of the Romero Trail, Cold Springs Trail, and San Ysidro Trail. The surface is fairly smooth, but littered with lots of gravelly little rocks. It is graded below the power lines, but hasn't been bladed above since 2007 and is primarily a single track again. This is a great climb and descend for intermediate riders.

This trail is heavily used by hikers and the occasional equestrian, so please ride with a bell. If you don't have one of your own, then you can borrow one from the SBMTV bell box just inside the gate at the trail head.
