Sandy Bay is home to one of the best camping spots on the Island. Managed by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services, the campsite boats well maintained drop toilets, picnic tables and a grassy camping site right on the beachfront.

Many of the Island Taxi's used to get riders to the island use this beach as the preferred landing spot making this climb off the beach the only way to access the trails.

Access Info

To access South Molle Island you need to organise a water taxi (we recommend Scamper). The trip is only 10 minutes and will drop you directly at Sandy Bay, one of the designated camp sites, but is tide dependant. Generally you must stay overnight.

Parking at Shute Harbour: $15 per 24 hours
Scamper return transfer including 5 litres of water per person per day $65
National Parks Camping Permit $5.75 per person or $23 per family available on QWPS website
