Sawmill Hollow Details
Heading up, it starts out likely to be your favorite trail ever: not too steep, beautiful fields, the occasional technical gully crossing, ponderosa pines and loamy soil here and there. Then, it gets steep. Very steep. Bike-as-an-iceaxe steep. But that doesn't last too long, and soon you're at the top.
Going down, it's awesome. The start is steep, with tree root sections and little drops to negotiate, with a few very steep sections to try not to slide through. Then, it levels out a bit, and gets fast and smooth, with just enough variation to keep you paying attention.
Honestly, though, it might be a better shuttle ride. That top section is steep. This trail would be very tricky in wet conditions.
Bottom: from the Diamond Fork road, just above all the hot-pots, once the canyon opens up a bit.
Top: from the access road that goes past Pumphouse Hill. Look for the trailhead on the left. Marked as trail 013.
