The Serengeti trail is mostly made of old mining roads. Most of the trail is inside the Pine Canyon Reclamation Area where no motor vehicles are allowed. There area is open grassland that is prime habitat for wildlife. There are great views, but there is little shade. A short section is old pavement that was part of Blue Peak RD.
Access from the Blue Peak RD trailhead or from the Pole line.
