Loose gravel, rocks, boulders...tons of hikers. I walked a majority of it.

Recent monsoon storms have washed a lot of the hard-packed dirt away and you're left with really loose gravel. Makes it hard to do the climb up...

Recently groomed, Shaw Butte is now a gravel climb. No technical sections now- just immensely steep. This climb will challenge anyone who rides it. Well worth the climb for the fast downhill to the base. Just watch for hikers on the weekend there is a lot of them

Uphill is a challenge, it’s relentless and bland though. It just keeps going

Not technical or exciting, some sections even have eroded asphalt. Decent amount of hikers

Downhill is fun mainly because you can go fast, be prepared to get stink eyed from hikers for doing so.

I’d prefer to ride something more technical and exciting honestly. It will kick your butt though
