Silver Creek is a motorized trail that is well maintained and sees very little use. Great out and back trail with a moderate climb and a fast, flowy singletrack descent. Drains really well and can be ridden in all weather conditions.
Located near Bear Prairie, the Silver Creek Trail begins on Forest Road 5240.015 and proceeds generally southwest on an easy grade through an old-growth forest until ending on Forest Road 84.
This trail is cut by road crossings with Forest Road 5222.016, within the first sections of the trail. Bear Prairie is a meadow at the headwaters of Skate Creek. This was the location of a Ranger Station in 1906. This station was seasonally occupied until Skate Creek Road was built in 1947.
From Packwood follow Skate Creek Rd. 11 miles to FR 5240 . Turn right on 5240 and follow for .5 mile to a quarry and junction. Turn right on spur rd 015 and the trail head will be on the left.
This trail is maintained by the US Forest Service. Check with the USFS/Gifford Pinchot National Forest for the latest trail status.
