This connector trail allows for great loops using the CDT and Thompson Park Trails. Short but sweet, this trail has a very steep and loose start through trees and deep moto ruts with a smooth runout on an old jeep trail. Stay right at the bottom to avoid any private land controversy.

Park in the gravel lot on the south side of I-90 at the Homestake exit. Take the gravel road west up and hill and stay straight (slightly right) and drop in! Return to the trailhead by taking the road from the bottom towards the Blacktail Loop trail and the multitude of route combinations in Thompson Park and the CDT.

This is a fun trail that looks like it gets a lot of traffic from dirt bikes and ATV's. For me the sketchy part about this trail is deep sections of loose sand. I think most intermediate level riders would be fine riding this trail because it's not too difficult if you just take it slow.
