Land OwnerBLM
Snail Trail is arguably the most popular trail in Redding. Originally built circa 2014 by BLM, the Redding Trail Alliance has iteratively improved this trail over the years with a couple realignments and the addition of berms, rollers, and jumps. The trail can be categorized as a fast flow trail with many berms and rollers. Riders with moderate skills and above will have a blast on Snail trail. Be prepared for a few steep 180 degree turns and blind corners. There are not any technical rock features on and, in general, the tread is fairly wide. The section below the intersection with Backpocket includes a few swooping turns across a small gully before terminating at a tributary of Olney Creek. Fun fact: Snail Trail is named after a rare species of snail that occurs in the area and was considered during the environmental clearance process of trail development.
