This is a multi-use trail used by snowshoers, hikers and cyclists in winter. Please yield to non-cyclists.
The trail begins just west of the parking lot along the Mountain Road - look for the snowshoe/fatbike symbols on the steel posts. The doubletrack trail parallels the Mountain Road for a while, with a couple of exit points along the way. The trail crosses Bragg Creek by going over the bridge, and then meets the north end of Snowy Shortcut. Continuing on Snowy Owl will put you into the trees and brush before popping out again at a cattle guard on Mountain Road.
From here, the trail turns hard up a steep slope and back into the trees. Bumping along, you will climb out of the forest and into a series of cutblocks before dropping back into the trees on the way to Ranger Summit and Strange Brew. With fresh or drifted snow, the track may be difficult to follow - look for the steel posts with the orange blazes that mark the trail.
This trail is best when there is enough snowpack to cover up the stubs of alders and fill in some of the low spots. Without the snow, it's a rougher ride than most of the area trails.

|Rode late in day - very soft and slushy with narrow track and deep snow to sides in open areas with sun. Awesome hard pack in the trees.|
