The original start of the South Boundary Trail #164 (starting from County Rd B2) has fallen out of use, due to erosion control measures that filled the trail with logs and branches. However, this section of good climbing is still in great shape.

This section of the SBT is a steady grunt of 800 ft over 1.5 miles—but all rideable—and is typically accessed these days from FS Rd 76 (see below).

Access it from one of two locations:
FS Rd 76
Drive 1.8 miles up FS Rd 76 from Hwy 434. Look for of an old logging road / 2-track heading south from a small bend. Ride the mostly flat 2-track for 1.2 miles. The singletrack heads up to the right and is signed with "164."

Original SBT Trailhead
Follow County Rd B1/B2 from Hwy 434 for 1.5 miles. Where B2 intersects with Corner Park Road, continue straight. Just before the "Private Drive" sign, head right following the fence line. Look for an old "Trail" sign. Erosion control and ATV deterrents make this mostly a hike-a-bike through downed trees up to the old logging road/2-track. Turn right (north) on the 2-track for ~0.3miles. Look for the signed "164" singletrack heading up to the left.
