Love this trail down. It is difficult up, but a great work out. You start in dry exposed area, then starting to traverse through the dense trees along the edge of Spring Hollow. the starts to cross the creek and gets very rocky, that is where the uphill basically is finish, then you rip down.

Definitely a black for the loose upper half, which starts after the screefied switchbacks. Loose rock makes for a reasonably fast and fun decent but virtually unrideable going up. The trail also is a straight shot down the fall line lacks much of anything interesting. Cool terrain - would be rad to have some trails designed for bikes here.

I started at First dam then rode under the road then past Ray Hugie park/ hydroelectric plant then up the Logan River trail then connected via the Bridger Lookoff trail to the Spring Hallow trail. It's a great ride but once you reach the rock slide area then you may as well turn around. From there it gets very steep and more technical. Great workout and not much traffic other than the walkers and joggers on the Logan River Trail. I think it was just over 4 miles each direction.

The upper half is black, you think the black should extend further down? I rode this last year, but can't remember where it hits that rock garden and gets nasty.

The last half of this trail should be a black trail rating not blue. It is very steep and most people will have to hike it.
