Staire Creek Trail is one of a handful of trails located in the "Big Ivy" district of the Pisgah National Forest, this district is managed by the Appalachian Ranger station located in Mars Hill, NC.

The Trail is open year round, though the gravel climb to the trailhead is closed to vehicle traffic from approx Jan. 1 through April 1. Weather dependent.
