Global Ranking
Up and down and up and down (and repeat) is the name of the game for this trail. Mixed surface types - broken road to stone/gravel, to sand, to packed dirt, to root hell, and even some mud thrown in for good measure. Several relatively short but killer climbs followed by glorious descents rooted (hint hint) in the natural topography of this area of the lake. Combine this trail with the Highland Hill loop (continue onto Highland Hill trail at the end of this trail, then take a left on the Highland Hill fire road at the end of the HH trail to return to the end of this trail and ride it back to your origination point) for a nice medium-length loop.
Access Info
Park in the recreation lot at the State Hill Boat Launch (you can use the launch lot in between Labor Day and Memorial day but you have to use the rec lot in the summer) and the trail head is on the left side of the launch lot right after the entrance (at the bottom of the hill).
