This is a new trail the park put in to bypass more of the Staunton Ranch trail (road). You'll still have to climb a little at the end on the road to connect to Marmot Passage but it's minimal.

This is a fairly smooth trail but not as much as the south trail.

Access Info

To access it from the south take the connection from the old Staunton Ranch Trail just before you get onto the dirt road.
