The coastal half from Stony Bay towards Fletcher Bay is largely easy meandering trail with gradual elevation gain and loss and a few minor stream crossings. Towards Fletcher Bay there is one very steep hill decent (washed out deeply) and a corresponding very steep hill climb. Most riders will walk down and have a very tough push up the hill.

From Fletcher Bay back to Stony Bay along the ridge it is a very steep climb over pasture and grass. Again many riders will struggle to ride this. Some sections are overgrown and difficult to follow the path or even push the bike through.

The downhill along the ridge line is near continuous to the Stony Bay camp site, and is quad bike track; wide and well maintained. Watch out for some of the particularly deep drainage ditches of carrying speed.
