It follows the edge of the river; there are ruts and gullies. Trail reports will almost invariably mention mud holes, even in the driest weather. The exposed areas dry up much quicker, so the trail is deceptive from a distance. Trail maintenance has helped, rocks bridging low spots makes a difference. There will be mud.
