The trail begins at 8,000 feet, and after a short climb along a jeep road, descends to 6,500 in under two miles through alpine meadow and forest, eventually dumping the rider onto Packsaddle Pass Road, where one can meet up with the Pony Express Trail across Highway 50 and ride another 10 miles to Kyburz.

As the name suggests, beware of rocks hidden by tall grass and brush.

I did this as an out and back. I recommend doing it as a downhill only. Very loose in some sections and the name is very fitting in other parts of the trail. I found a great amount of enjoyment coming back down this trail and searching for my lines.

Not that big of a fan of this trail. If you have ridden other trails in the area and looking for something new then cool but if your new to the area and wanting to ride some of the best trails, I would ride Thunder Mtn, Silver Fork DH, Hay Flat instead of this trail. A lot of this trail is fireroad, some of the single track is excellent but for some reason when I got done riding this trail I just wasn't that thrilled. It had some nice elements but as a whole I didn't think it was that spectacular compared to other trails in the area. The Cody Lake trail we did as an out an back was sort but way more fun than this trail. This trail can be hard to find, so using the trailforks app will help. These are just my thoughts you'll just have to see for yourself.
