Excellent trail for climbing or descending the east side of Lake Tahoe. It leaves the Tahoe Rim Trail just south of the Marlette Peak Campground. There is a pump with fresh water at the southeast corner of this campground where you can fill your Camelbak. The trail stays in the trees nearly its entire length. Switchbacks and lots of contouring keep the grade in check for climbing Still, this is roughly a thousand foot climb at moderate elevation, and getting there involves many miles on the trail. You will definitely feel the effort. On the way down small berms, small jumps and a log ride kick up the fun factor. A must-ride part of any loop on the east side of the rim in this area. Consider a TRT, Snapdragon, Red House, Sunflower Hill loop in either direction or ride out around Marlette Lake.
