The north side of this trail is shaded and a reasonable climb. The south side is exposed, steep, and needs to be descended with care. Best ridden from north to south, to avoid the steep southern climb.

       Think of Sunny Jim as more like Sonny Liston. On the climb, Jim is going to hit you hard right away, let you hang on the ropes a little bit, and then go for a middle to late round knockout. What this climb lacks in length, it makes up for in gradient. If you like a quick shot of pain, this is your trail.
