This rolling gravel road takes you to a hilltop that offers spectacular views over Cook Strait towards the South Island.

As you approach the end there is a Y-intersection. The right-hand branch heads down into Long Gully, which is private property. Take the left-hand branch below a small building and onto a flat area where the track simply ends.

Either return the same way or, if you're really keen, backtrack 0.2km and drop down Ribs. Alternatively, return to 0.2km south of the radar dome and head down Radome.

This track now has a warning that both walkers and mtb riders are not permit to enter, and the trespasser would be prosecuted.

There are conflicting signs at the gate at northern end of this road. There is a legal Right Of Way, which is outlined on the council information board. Follow the orange markers on the stakes and please stay on the road. The sign on the gate is fairly aggressive in its language however you are allowed foot and bike access along the road as indicated.
