A pleasant option to connect from/to the Sinks Trail (Tr #3233). Some of this trail follows an old, out of service forest service road which has reduced to single track. A somewhat stiff climb through an open meadow provides spectacular views of the forest and Wallow Mountains in the distance.

If you're starting from the lake, take care not to miss the sharp left / switchback away from the south end of lake. If you cross the bridge at this extreme end then you've gone too far. The trail is indistinct as you follow it through the open meadow.

You can access the north end of the Sinks Tr. more directly from NF-030 off of NF-63 although there is a swampy creek area and the "trail" may require a little bushwhacking and high stepping over fallen trees.

You can expect lots of people near the lake so be respectful, engage your chill and enjoy the easy ride there. The opposite side of the lake is a campground and it has water spigots and outhouses.
