From the north end off of the Charlton Lake to Cultus Lake loop trail, the Twins trail climbs steeply and steadily with lots of switchbacks to the saddle between the two peaks. The climbing is all rideable, but at times steep, and the trail is thin as this section doesn't get ridden a whole lot. After the saddle, the south side descends first, then climbs a little back to a trail fork. To the right is an out-and-back to the top of the Twins peak. The main trail continues to the left and descends moderately the whole way down. This trail is popular with bikers and hikers and gets lots of use, and so is wider. Very fast downhill with few tight turns. Some rocks along the way but tree roots abound. Riding the trail from the south end to the top would be an easier climb and not quite as steep as from the north end.

This is a fun trail - natural features, deep loam - but is nowhere near a black diamond in difficulty. There really arn't any technical features on this trail, and it rates a mid-level blue IMO.
