    #33375 in Mountain Biking

One of the best afterwork/morning trail in Valais/Wallis!

Starting from Thyon 2000 ski-resort (2095m/6873ft) all the way down to Sion (490m/1607ft), this trail feature 5200ft of vertical (more than Whistler's Top of the World).

This trail is not lift serviced but there is a bus service (with bike-hangers) from the railway station in Sion. If you use shuttles, you can park your cars at the "Ch√Ęteau Constellation" wine cellar (the end of the GPS track).

The terrain is quite varied, ranging from loamy single-track to full-on rock gardens (old mule trail). There is also a couple of wooden constructions on the first segment, mostly drops and small jumps.

Can be ridden with both all-mountain and downhill bikes, from end of April (depends on the snow) to November.

Rode the trail today, still snowy at the top for 200m then dry. The first half it's easy to find even without checking your gps, then the second part it's full of crosses and checking your gps it's a must. First half it's flowy, second part rocky. I would recommend to use an enduro bike! Pedaling up from Sion requires about 3 hours.
