This section of Trail 130 that takes you up and over Day Mountain is more primitive and less used than some of the other more popular riding trails on Mt Spokane, and that is a big part of its appeal. The views from the shoulder of Day Mountain are wonderful. The climb up from the Kit Carson road has some steep spots and some roots, but overall it is not too bad. The trail drops somewhat steeply down the south facing side before leveling out and traversing the saddle between Day Mt and Kit Carson. The recommended ride direction is from north to south, but it could be done either way.
